Wake up people, it's pretty bad when you can't talk directly to the people who are supposed to be helping you and taking care of your medical conditions.
Horrible! A family member went in for tests, and one full week later we're still playing phone-tag with the nurse practitioner in regards to what the results are.
My biggest complaint is they do not ever listen to the patient and they treat us like drug seekers. When they ask what your pain level is and you say anything above 6 you get over the counter Tylenol if they take you seriously. NEWS FLASH. WE'RE NOT ALL JUNKIES TRYING TO GET A FIX
I moved to louisiana earlier this year and have been waiting months for an appointment. I arrive yesterday for my appointment thinking I was going to finally get the help I need for my diagnosed Bowl Disease only to find out they are not on board with my RX regimen that put me in remission last year. Now I suffer from extreme fatigue, dizziness, uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea. With having IBD I am quite use to the lower G.I issues at hand but whats not easy to get use to is the bad stomach and constant vomiting. I stressed to the APRN that i dont even feel it coming it just happens. Their response is they only treat nauseousness and vomiting in chemo PTS. There is alot that goes into play for this auto immune diseases I have been knowingly battling for 7 years and almost took the life of my unborn child. It has triggers stress, aniexty, depression all play major factors in my day to day illness which i might add I can't begin to take any meds until I can stop puking. There's no way for me to keep my meds down and they induce the vomiting.(who wants to live like that?) And don't get me started on how poorly the office is ran. My address was wrong (which could have potentially left me waiting longer to be seen) and i stood at the receptionist desk (yes dizzy, nauseous and all) for near an hour before they figured out the error in their charts because of my maiden name. Then the list of complaints from others in the waiting room. People in the medical field should feel more compassion for what kinda impact they make on people's lives. Looks like we will be on the hunt for another G.I probably wayyy out of my area where I'll have to wait another few months to be seen again. Thanks Chabert G.I and Cancer Specialist.
Again I went there. My time before was great so I gave it another chance because I had a very high temperature from the flu on Christmas night. They did a nose swab and unnecessarily did a chest xray that was to milk my insurance purposes. And then they didn't do the swab right and they decided to pull out 6 vials to draw blood I refused to give blood beater because I have a condition where I have no veins and I end up getting 3 nurses who always give up or torture me. It's actually traumatizing. I asked for other options. The young med student doctor made me sign out against medical advice saying I was going to die if I didn't listen to her in a mean fashion that had the people in the room with me angry. She gave me no meds no doctors note and was dismissive. I was just another number. I went to a walk in clinic the morning after they did the same swab and it was the flu. They gave me the proper medical attention without milking my insurance and giving me the meds I need.
I had really great doctors here my neurologist was the best (Ms.Christina) Dr. Lata treated me for my lupus we didn't always see eye to eye but I love her she got the job done. I had 3 surgeries there they all were a success. I did have a bad experience with the ER it's not the best. My primary care and eye Dr. were ok I only left because of insurance reasons but I miss them all
There's a barrier (answering service) that you have to go through which entails leaving a message before speaking with the nurse. One representative said that if I would have returned the nurse's call an hour later, she could directly call the nurse to see if she's available to talk. However, since it's been longer than an hour, I have to go back through the process of leaving a message and waiting for another call-back. My response was, "What's the difference between returning a call 1 hour later and 4 hours later?" She replied by saying "The nurse would be busy 4 hours later." Really? I asked her, "How do you know she is too busy at this moment to talk right now," and she said, "Since it's patient hours, she HAS to be busy." The problem with that statement is, it would still be within patient hours if I would have called back an hour later.
I had a horrible experience at this hospital, I was going to see a neurologist for the first time and they rescheduled without notifying me. Then also I was going to see Orthopedics then they notify me by mail that appointment is rescheduled not neurologist. Neurology clinic was not changed or rescheduled until I went for a neurology appointment they told me it was change.
