Short but beautiful rail, remote enough to see plenty of wildlife. Although, today June 5th, it was flooded and we had to get high rainboots to be able to continue. We were literally in the Bayou. (It was kinda cool I must admit)but it shouldn't have opened at all ( in the picture, it is the path!)
Incredible short trail. A little muddy. We saw Yellow Rumped Warbler, an Osprey chasing off an American Eagle, White Ibis, Great Egret, Cat Bird, and spectacular vegetation. Walk slowly and observe.
This is a true gem right in our own back yard, there are no public facilities or service area. The walk is very pleasant but some of the signs identifying local plants and trees are worn off. It is much more pleasant in early spring as the heat in the summer brings hoards of gnats, great for outdoor photography.
Neat little nature trail. It isn't very long, but you will probably get to see some local wildlife.
Good fishing
